Reporter: Oscar press room ‘groaned loudly’ over Michelle Obama appearance
In a twist worthy of an M. Night Shyamalan film, it appears even the Hollywood mainstream media has had their fill of President and Michelle Obama. According to a reporter covering the Oscars, media in the press room at the Academy Awards “groaned loudly” when Michelle Obama appeared via satellite to announce the winner of Best Picture.
The incident was reported via tweet by Steven Gregory, a reporter for KFI 640 AM, a Clear Channel radio station in Los Angeles (his bio page can be viewed right here). Gregory was in the press room for the Academy Awards, and was the first (and so far one of the the few) reporters to acknowledge the reaction by the press when the First Lady appeared via satellite during the ceremony. His tweet read:
When Michelle Obama was introduced by Jack Nicholson most of the reporters in the media room groaned….loudly.
Gregory did not elaborate on the incident, so it is not clear exactly what the groans meant. One can speculate that the press was tired of seeing yet another Obama/Hollywood publicity stunt, which was a common occurrence during the campaign. Perhaps they thought the Academy Awards were beneath her standing as First Lady, or considered it a failed attempt at hipsterism, or perhaps they just had Obama fatigue. In any event, it was obvious the stunt did not go over well.
According to Breitbart.com, the appearance by Michelle Obama was part of a larger plan orchestrated by producer Harvey Weinstein. They point out that Naked DC reported Weinstein flew Oscar producers to Washington to work out the details with the First Lady’s staff weeks ago. Weinstein had also hired Stephanie Cutter, the Obama campaign PR head, to lobby Academy voters on behalf of his film, Silver Linings Playbook. Despite earning eight nominations, it only won one, as Jennifer Lawrence took home the Oscar for Best Actress.
During her appearance at the ceremony, Michelle Obama praised Hollywood for their “vitally important work,” which would include, we assume, Piranha 3DD, Ghost Rider 2, and whatever movie Eddie Murphy made last year.

Christopher Dorner had plenty of nice things to say about a notable list of Democrats that includes the likes of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Senator Feinstein and President and Mrs. Obama. The entire manifesto with these details is posted at http://gawker.com/5982440 at the time of this writing.
It looks like the psychological profile of the rogue cop could fit well within the parameters of what the left would normally classify as right wing nut job.
Silly. Just like our current economic malaise is caused by devices and schemes intended to cure our economic malaise.
The power failure that plunged the Super Bowl into darkness and halted play
for more than a half-hour Sunday was caused by a device installed
specifically to prevent a blackout.
“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. government can’t pay its own bills. … I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”
Barack Obama, floor speech in the Senate, March 16, 2006
Obama decried raising the debt ceiling until he needed to raise it.
