All the buzz over Sarah Palin’s crosshairs map brings back to the surface, the fact that often, the rhetoric is pretty similar on the other side of the aisle (or is it a gulf now?). In 2004, the Democrats rolled out a map featuring bullseye targets and citations of “behind enemy lines.” There is, evidently, nothing new under the sun. The recent spin on Sarah Palin’s crosshairs (were they just surveyor sights as claimed by some?) arises out of a desperate attempt to link a figure no more politically motivated than Arthur Bremer to their ongoing smear campaign against Republicans and particularly, Tea Party leaders.
The 2004 bullseye targets map is on this Democratic website.
